NFPA 664-2020 Standard for the Prevention of Fires and Explosions in Wood Processing and Woodworking Facilities.
6.3.1.2 11w lile safety objectives of 4,2.2 with respect to a (lellagranon hafard shall 1w deemed to have beeti u)iieved when the lóllowing conditions are met:
(I ) Ignitiomi has bent presented.
(2) Under all dellagration scenarios. no person. other than those intimate with the ignition, is exposed to untenable tiitlitnis dite to time occiiteticr of a deflagratunt.
(3) Under all dellagration scenarios, no person. other than those intinlate with the ignition, is subject to missile iimlpat (hue to time occurrence of a dellagranomi or explo— slot).
(4) Under all dellagration scenarios, no structural element ol the Innlciing is datmiaged. dtirmimg the peioc1 of time tieces— sary to elicct complete evacuation of the occupants, to the extent that it can no longer suppolt its design load.
6.3.2* Structural Integrity.
6.3.2.1 The structural integrity objective of 4.2.5 with respect to lire shall be deemed to have been achieved when no snucmitral eleitment of the i)mni(hiimg is danmaged in lime extent that it can no longer support its design load under all fire scenarios.
6.3.2.2 The structural integrity objective of 1.2.5 with iespec to deflagrations shall lr deemed o have been achieved when no stnmctural element of the building is damaged to the extent that it can no longet support iLs design load under all dellagiation scenarios.
6.3.2.3 The structural integrity objective of 42.5 with respect to dellagrations shall be deemed to have been achieved when the pressure resulting from a dnilagration within a building, vessel. enclosure, duct, or compartment during deflagration is limited to that pmes.snrc the containment can withstand, by design, without release of flame, burning fuel, hot combustion product gases, or missiles.
6.3.3 Mission Continuity. The mission contintiit objectives of
4.2.. shall be deemed to have been achieved when damage to equipment and the facility has been limited to a level of damage acceptable to the owner or operator.
6.3.4 Prevention of Ignition.
6.3.4.1 Prevention o ignition shall be deemed to be achieved when the temperature oi the combustible materials present in the facility is maintained at a temperature lower than the tillowing:
(1) 1 .nwest reported diva lacer ignition temperature for the dttsts
(2) [.owest temperature at which proh’sis has been reported
(3) The ignition temperature of the combustible materials present
6.3.4.2 For peilormance evaluation for prevention ol ignition, the power (energy per unit time) criterion used shall he based upon the median particle iiiass, specific heat, coellicient of them’inal conductis’it, and einissivity. No credit shall be allowed for radiant or convective heat losses from the target particle.NFPA 664 pdf download.
