AS ISO 3498:2020 Safety and public health requirements for plumbing products – Water heaters and hot-water storage tanks. 8.2.2 Additional marking requirements for 45 °C-limited water heaters In addition to the marking requirements in Clause 8.2.1, 45 °C-limited water heaters shall be marked with the following information: (a) The following text: THIS APPLIANCE DELIVERS WATER NOT EXCEEDING 45°C IN ACCORDANCE WITH AS 3498. (b) For 45 °C-limited water heaters with multiple outlets, identification of the outlet intended to deliver heated water to sanitary fixtures used primarily for personal hygiene purposes. 8.2.3 Additional marking requirements for 50°C-limited water heaters In addition to the marking requirements in Clause 8.2.1, 50 °C-limited water heaters shall be marked as follows: (a) The following text: THIS APPLIANCE DELIVERS WATER NOT EXCEEDING 50°C IN ACCORDANCE WITH AS 3498. (b) For 50 °C-limited water heaters with multiple outlets, identification of the outlet intended to deliver heated water to sanitary fixtures used primarily for personal hygiene purposes. 8.2.4 Additional marking requirements for appliances that are not 45 °C-limited water heaters or 50 °C-limited water heaters In addition to the marking requirements in Clause 8.2.1, appliances that are not 45 °C-limited water heaters or 50 °C-limited water heaters shall be marked with the following warning: WARNING — THIS APPLIANCE MAY DELIVER WATER AT HIGH TEMPERATURE. REFER TO THE PLUMBING CODE OF AUSTRALIA (PCA), LOCAL REQUIREMENTS AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS TO DETERMINE IF ADDITIONAL DELIVERY TEMPERATURE CONTROL IS REQUIRED. 8.3 Hot-water storage tanks Hot-water storage tanks shall be marked with the following information: (a) Name of manufacturer or trademark. (b) Statement that the hot-water storage tank conforms to this Standard. (c) Catalogue or model number. (d) Identification for traceability in the form of: (i) batch identification; (ii) individual serial number; or (iii) month and year of manufacture. (e) Storage capacity. (f) Maximum rated power input, in kilowatts or megajoules per hour as appropriate. (g) Maximum working pressure, in kilopascals. (h) For vented hot-water storage tanks, an instruction that any vent or outlet intended to remain open to atmosphere shall not be obstructed.AS ISO 3498 pdf download.
