5.1.1 .2. Name of the person who performed the check,
5.1.1.3. Date of the check,
5.1 .1 .4. Identification of the equipment used to perform the check. and
5.1.1 .5. Statement of conformance (pass or fail).
5.2. The straightedge shall be checked for conformance to the requirements of Section 4.2 every twelve months, and when there is doubt about the plancness of the straightedge. by placing the straightedge against the glass plate specified in Section 4.3 and sliding the feeler gauge specified in Section 4.4 along the edge. lithe feeler gauge penetrates the space between the glass plate and straightedge at any time, the straightedge shall be replaced or machined to conform to the requirements of Section 4.2 before placing the straightedge back in service. Document and retain a record of the check.
5.2.1. The record shall include:
5.2.1.1. Name of procedure.
5.2.1.2. Name of the person who perftrmed the check,
5.2.1.3. Date of the check,
5.2.1 .4. Identification of the equipment used to perform the check, and
5.2.1.5. Statement of conformance (pass or fail).
5.3. Establish, document, and regularly perform a procedure for maintenance of the grinder. Conduct grinder maintenance at least once every twelve months. Document and retain the maintenance schedule, procedure, and records.
5.3.1. The procedure shall include a description of the maintenance activities and may incorporate a reference to the manufacturer’s instructions for maintenance.
5.3.2. The record shall include:
5.3.2.1. Name of maintenance procedure,
5.3.2.2. Name of the person who performed the maintenance.
5.3.2.3. Date the maintenance was performed, and
5.3.2.4. Results of the maintenance including a statement of condition along with comments if repairs or replacement of parts were needed.
Note 2—Users of this standard are encouraged to follow manufacturer’s recommendations for maintenance of the grinder including regularly scheduled replacement of grinding or wearing parts, cleaning, and lubrication of moving parts as needed.
